International Museum Ship Weekend Feature of Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival

As part of the June 6, 2026 Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival in Oswego, New York, Fred Legawiec will be talking to historic ships from aboard Derrick Boat No. 8 alongside the National Historic Landmark LT-5 tugboat used in the 1944 D-Day landing of Allied forces at Normandy during World War II. Legawiec’s station during the festival will have information on the storied career of the LT-5. 

New Date for 2026 Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival - June 6, 2026

The H. Lee White Maritime Museum and New York Sea Grant have announced June 6, 2026 as the new date for 2026 Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival. Admission is free. The event is held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Oswego’s Historic Maritime District along the 1 West First Street Oswego Port Authority Pier.
