Giving Tuesday: Support The LT-5 Preservation Project

This Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, we invite you to stand with us in preserving one of America’s most remarkable maritime artifacts—the National Historic Landmark WWII tugboat LT5. As one of the last surviving vessels of its kind, LT5 is more than steel and rivets; it is a testament to the service, sacrifice, and ingenuity that defined a generation.

Honoring the 80th Anniversary of D-Day

Today, moored along the West First Street Pier in Oswego Harbor, LT-5 Major Elisha K. Henson serves as a dock-side attraction, a remnant of the greatest generation, and a site worthy of preservation.  Seventy-five years ago, the 114’ ocean going tugboat played a crucial role in what General Dwight Eisenhower termed the “Great Crusade” – the allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, colloquially known as D-Day.
