Kingsford Bell Shelf Sitter
The Kingsford Bell, originally located on the rooftop of the Elias Root Malt House at the corner of West Second and Niagara Streets, signaled workers of the Oswego Starch Factory. The factory opened in 1848 and was operated by T. Kingsford and Son. On February 12, 1905 the factory suffered a tragic mill fire. The Kingsford Bell and Tower, now located as the centerpiece in Breitbeck Park, Oswego, New York are all that remain of a once-thriving factory.
